White sands, clear water, a gorgeous beach and a couple in love always work together perfectly to create just the right foundation for beautiful, unforgettable images. Photographer Chelsey Boatwright did a wonderful job of capturing the peace and love that’s so obvious to see in the relationship between Camy and Marcus, who met 15 years ago in a Math class at Florida A & M. Since they’ve shared a friendship and love for that long, it’s no wonder this couple fits together like a well-worn glove. That’s probably why you feel the warmth of their love without the realization that they were literally freezing!! According to Camy, “it was one of the coldest days in Florida and we all were freezing.” I guess love really is radiant.
Bride: Camy McGriff
Groom: Marcus Hayes
Date of E-Session/Wedding: 01.14.2012/05.26.2012
Wedding Location: The Abbey, Orlando, Florida
How He Proposed … “Marcus proposed on March 14th in the same Math class, which is now an empty building. He lured me there by having his cousin call me to pick her up from class. Upon my arrival, I was asked to get out and assist with carrying a prop for her class project. Once at the front door of the building, I recognized Marcus standing in the door way of the main building. He ushered me to the classroom where we met 15 years ago and sat me down in the same seat to recreate our collegiate days in the Fall of 97.”

We also have the pleasure of sharing their gorgeous wedding with you. We love the Camy’s Alfred Angelo gown and that stunning pearl necklace. More images in the full gallery.
From the bride...“Marcus and I did not want the traditional element such as a exchanging our vows in a church. We wanted something that illustrated our personalities and our sense of fun. The planning process was a year and two months. We decided on Orlando, Fl because we wanted our guests to feel as if they were at a destination wedding without having to spend too much on travel. Also, Orlando was a mid-way point for both families, with the abundance of activities in Orlando we knew they would not be bored. The theme of our wedding was “Lassiez Les Bon Temp Rouler” meaning let the good times roll in Creole. Marcus and I and have a very fun loving outgoing personality and these words depict exactly how we felt about our wedding and our up coming life together.”
Memories… “For Marcus the most memorable part of the wedding was reciting his vows. For me it would be the first time I saw him as I was walking down the aisle…He had tears in his eyes and all I could think about was how happy I was on that day and I could not wait to begin our life together.”
