In 2014 Ralph & Russo, the only British-based couture label, was officially deemed skilled to to debut their collection during Paris Couture Week. The luxury brand was founded in 2007 by Australian couple Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, and serves a very high-profile clientele from Beyonce to Angelina Jolie. Without doubt, we believe that it is the quality of their work and the modernity of their service that these two newcomers have succeeded in the most elite of circles.
Craftsmanship, design and the fantasy of fashion has always been Ralph & Russo’s backbone. The brand has never launched a ready-to-wear collection and solely focuses on creating impeccably made, hand-crafted pieces for an international clientele – ranging from new born infants to sophisticated women. Originally, couture pieces were considered to only be acquired by a more mature customer, but Ralph & Russo designs have become more appealing to a much younger customer – girls who are looking for pieces that displays bold femininity, dazzling glamour and modern drama. Out of this dynamic duo, Ralph is the one who has the strong background in couture – coming from three generations of couturiers, she began to learn the trade and how to create her first couture pieces at a very young age. Russo covers all bases on the business end, although the pair work side-by-side when overseeing all areas of the brand.
Ralph & Russo consistently impress with their ability to create looks that balance swooning drama and it’s youthful and sensual spirit. The gentle palette of pastels in luxurious airy crepe, organza and lace fabrics, in their Spring 2016 couture collection, are impeccably detailed in combination with the hand stitched crystal glass bead embellishments and floral appliqué. There collections always feel like a breathe of fresh air – not only because of the fabrics used, but also in their way of maintaining a unique, modern and timelessly elegant esthetic.
