Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Dr. King was married in the garden of his in-laws’ house on June 18, 1953. A glamorous celebration filled with 350 guests making it the biggest wedding, regardless of race, in the area. As you go about your day today, remember what Dr. King stood for…equality, forgiveness, faith, sacrifice, peace, and most importantly….love. Remember to always try to forgive your significant other…And never go to bed angry…trust me, it works. Life is too short to spend energy on being negative…
We leave you with some of our favorite quotes from Dr. King Jr.
“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.”
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Day, what is your dream?
roossetobre
In those days, slavery was not looked upon, even in Quaker Philadelphia, with the shudder and abhorrence one feels towards it now.
