When it comes to color inspiration one of the main sources to always look to is Pantone Color Institute®. For the spring 2015 season they chose to pull from the both cooler and softer colors. As we will be entering the warmer months of spring, Pantone predicts designers will be drawing inspiration from “daydreams of simpler times”. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, of Pantone Color Institute® explains, “Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated. Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.”
Weddings are already dreamy enough as it is. Why not use colors to embrace that dreamy feel? Strawberry Ice can be seen as both a warm but “refreshing” color that suggests subtle charm. Pantone suggests Strawberry Ice can be paired well with Toasted Almond and Tangerine. We completely agree, we incorporated the Toasted Almond within the suit Hart Schaffner Marx and went for a mix of the Classic Blue among everything else.

Pantone describes Tangerine in two words “spontaneous and gregarious”. This brilliant orange can be easily seen as energizing and extremely versatile as it can be used for solid or patterned fabric. For this inspiration we played around with Tangerine in patterns as seen within Bandari’s vintage floral bowtie and Nordstrom checkered dress shirt.

Eiseman describes Aquamarine as, “The lead color for women for the Spring/Summer 2015 season, PANTONE 14-4313 Aquamarine is an airy blue with a dreamy feel. Cool and calming, ethereal Aquamarine is a shade with a wet and watery feel. Open and expansive, this restful blue also acts as a stress reducer.” Many brides may choose to incorporate Aquamarine within their wedding decor or of course as their something blue. However, don’t forget the men, they can wear this color extremely elegantly.

The Classic Blue channels calmness and harmony while still exuding confidence. This classic color is a staple for the male gender so it was quite easy to embrace this color within our menswear inspiration. For this look we incorporated two statement pieces to compliment the blue Canali suit: the vintage Buru Batik Monarch Bow Tie by Bandari and Ted Baker driving cap.
There are many colors to choose from within the Spring 2015 report, whichever you may choose for your wedding just remember the men can wear the wedding colors just as dapper as the women!
