Ulusaba Game Reserve

Ulusaba Private Game Reserve

A South African safari-themed getaway is in your near future if Ulusaba Private Game Reserve is part of your wedding or honey-mooning itinerary. Yet another Sir Richard Branson owned resort, the Ulusaba Private Game Reserve is located in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve bordering Kruger National Park.

You could either be ‘at one with the wild’ along the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed as you reside in a suite at Ulusaba’s Safari Lodge; or be on top of the world amongst the draping forage, indigenous trees and rocky ridges at Rock Lodge; or even better, have the best of both worlds by choosing to split your stay between the two lodges. Nevertheless, you will  be sure to experience  the African bush at its most natural form, while never having to give up comfort, luxury, and style.  Ulusaba gives you the sights, sounds and smell of the wild without compromising  the lifestyle and pampering you would expect from a five star hotel.

Rock Lodge

With a stunning backdrop of the Drakensberg  Mountain range, the Rock Lodge sits at the apex of a koppie (rocky hill). Its 10 room setup sits eight hundred feet above the wilderness, contributing to a spectacular view of the vast stretch of land. Inspiring its name, the granite rocks of the koppie remains the highlighting feature design of the Rock lodge. To match its brilliant exterior,  the interior of each room has the colors of a distinct African tribe. Each room is decorated with authentic African inspired artifacts and regalia to give guests a sense of comfort and culture. To encourage sightseeing, each room has its adjoining balcony that overlooks the safari wonderland below.

Safari Lodge

Au contraire to the Rock Lodge, the Safari Lodge is conveniently placed within the African bush. A popular attraction here is the Treehouse suite. It appeals to the sense of adventure in that access to some guest rooms is through swing bridges. The built tree house rooms also provide a direct view of wildlife activities along the riverbed.  Each lodge provides a serene and relaxing atmosphere and a wonderful view of wildlife in its rawest form.

Ulusaba Game Reserve is known to provide a breathtaking event location for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other celebratory events. Weddings here are known to be memorable: couples have the option of exchanging vows on a viewing deck that provides an enchanting back drop and a picture perfect setting, or may prefer to commemorate their future life together under a romantic canopy of an Amarula tree, amidst the warm glow of bamboo torches, while being serenaded by the beat of an African drum.
