Real {Atlanta} Wedding: Lauren + Ryan

If most people are asked where they met their spouses or significant other, it is almost definite that the answer will likely not be "at the zoo." However, that's exactly where Lauren and Ryan met. Ryan, who acts and models on the side, was part of a commercial with Lauren's friend, Ginessa, at the zoo. At the commercial shoot, his eyes lit up when he saw Lauren and his heart followed - so much so that he contacted her through Facebook, sent her messages and convinced her to go on a date with him. They've been lighting each other's eyes up ever since.

Their beautiful wedding was photographed by William Hogan.

The Bride: Lauren Collins
The Groom: Ryan Hirsch
Occupations: Bride - Marketing Manager; Groom - Manager of Multimedia and Video Services
The Wedding Date: 08.27.2011

The Proposal ..... "Ryan proposed at P.F. Changs with a personalized fortune cookie. At the end of every meal at that restaurant, they bring you fortune cookies. Ryan had talked to our waitress ahead of time so that she would know to make the switch, and when I opened my fortune cookie, it said, "A diamond ring and a loving husband are in your immediate future." I looked up and he was kneeling there with and open ring box (he went to Jared), and of course I said YES!"

Wedding Planning Challenges ..... "We live in Nashville but most of our extended family and friends live in Atlanta, so it made sense to us to have the wedding there. The most challenging part about that was planning a wedding long-distance. We made several trips back and forth and had to get most of our planning done over a 3-4 visits to Atlanta and lots of phone calls, emails, and texts. I had to trust one of my aunts to make sure that things were pulled together smoothly, but my mom and I were the masterminds of most of the planning."

The Decor, Incorporating Culture & The Event ..... "I chose purple and silver as my wedding colors, with a touch of hot pink to brighten things up. Our wedding was in the afternoon at the end of the summer, so I wanted it to be elegant and beautiful. We chose hydrangeas for our flowers, and we had a florist personalize our hand bouquets based on the wedding colors. One of the most beautiful decorations was the chuppa, which we stood under to get married. We aren't Jewish but related to the Jewish sentiment that the chuppa represents the house that we will build together, and God's blessing over our marriage. We are strong Christians, so that was incorporated throughout. We had a harpist play for the ceremony, which was beautiful. We did a mix of classical staples as well as Stevie Wonder love songs. I came down the isle to "Canon in D," which was a memorable moment for me. We got married in an all-in-one facility, so after we were married the guests went to cocktail hour and the room was turned over for the dinner hour. A hit at cocktail hour was the photo booth that our photographer set up where people held a clicker and went to town photographing themselves with all kinds of props. We wanted to be sure everyone had a great time."

The Most Unforgettable Moment ..... "Walking down the isle with my father, and being handed over to Ryan. My parents had such a sense of peace, and that was truly touching for everyone. The limo ride to the Ritz-Carlton was memorable, because it was surreal that the day was over and we were riding into the sunset of our future. It was great!"

{You Make Loving You So Easy}

He loves ..... "I'm easy to talk to, and we are best friends. He says that our relationship flows naturally, without being forced. And he loves my drive and yearning to always do better in life."

She loves ..... "He is very selfless and always willing to make sure that my needs are taken care of. His love is honest, and I always know where he stands. He is always looking to help others, which makes me want to be a better person. He loves me well."
