Engagement Announcement: John + Angela’s School Love
John and I meet in 2007 . I was a Language Arts teacher for a middle school in Atlanta, and he was hired as the new band director. The band program at our school was struggling and he totally turned it around. I was inspired by his musical talent and his passion for teaching. John and I would eventually become friends. He was a consummate gentle man and his smile was infectious. When I would see him around the school, he would always ask me how my day was going, and he frequently had some funny story to tell me to brighten up my day. Though he attended every birthday party I invited him to, it did not hit me that John liked me as more than a friend. One day, a co worker approached me and laid it all on the table. She told me, “He’s got it for you real bad. He’ll even switch schools to date you.” At first I was apprehensive because I am not a fan of workplace romances. However, the few co-workers who knew John’s true feelings for me convinced me to go on a date with him to the movies. He was so chivalrous, charming and genuine I had to go out with him again.

On an evening out lisa with her friends and biruk with his we were introduced and we dance the night away under the stars on The Moshulu. Engagement Announcement: It Was Meant To Be…
It started off with a boy’s weekend in New York, Brent and his friends flew over from London decided to have dinner at Revel, the waitress was none other than his future wife. Sherita took a job as a cocktail waitress to help pay for one of mother’s lavish vacations to Monaco and on the night before she quit meet my future husband.
We had no idea what would happen as Brent was living in London at the time. Traveling back and forth to see each other was exciting and tearful when our time together was over but, as he said the night we meet, 6 months later he was a New Yorker. It was clear early on that we had found the one. We had an instant connection and through the good and bad times we have fallen deeper in love. We spent our time dating traveling as much as we could, enjoying all the city has to offer ( under 14th st), and spending quiet nights at home watching movies as we do on so many cold winter nights.
Now after 4 wonderful years together we are so happy to become husband and wife.
Engagement Announcement: Two Love Birds
We both attended the same HBCU together (Bethune-Cookman University) and had a mutual friend who insisted we met. After speaking on the phone briefly we didn’t really take each other seriously. While Retesha sat in a classroom waiting for class to start Kene walked by and she called his name. This would be the first time they officially met. They hit it off instantly and fell in love.

Our story is unique, yet it has a dream-filled ending!! Derek lives in Brooklyn, NY and I live in San Diego, Ca. We met online at Blackpeoplemeet.com in January of 2009 on a dating website, and after meeting, we remained friends for a year by talking on the phone and taking advantage of the web cam. Around January of 2010 that friendship grew into something more. On March 14th, 2010 Derek asked if I would be his girlfriend, I said yes!! We then decided to take that next step to meeting each other and on May 28th of 2010 Derek flew me to New York for 5 days (this was one of the “craziest” things i had ever did, and I am so glad I listened with my heart) and from that moment on our relationship just kept growing. Thank You God!!!
DISTANCE MEANS SO LITTLE WHEN SOMEONE MEANS SO MUCH!!

We met on Facebook! As crazy as it sounds Michael found me on the wonderful site while trying to reconnect with a mutual friend. He saw my profile and wanted to know a little more about me. After about two weeks of texting and phone calls we went out on our first date and were instantly in love. I fell ill within a couple of weeks after our first date and was hospitalized and Michael was attending The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and offered to drive and miss three classes just to know that I was okay. I knew then that he was a truly loving and devoted friend and would be the perfect husband.
