Good day, my name is Folashade Shobitan, the Social/Events Chair of Renovate Nigeria. I am reaching out to follow up and inform you more of ReNOVATE Nigeria as briefly introduced to you by Roseline Akintunde, our president. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to extend the opportunities we have been given to those in Nigeria who do not have them. Poverty is extensive in many rural areas in Nigeria, and our aim is to alleviate that, through improving education, health, and development in those areas.
ReNOVATE Nigeria stands for Rebuilding Nigeria One Village at a Time, was founded in August 2009 by Roseline Akintunde and her friends from college. The organization was officially registered in Nigeria and also in the state of New Jersey as a non-profit organization in the summer of 2010.
Last year we began our service in Nigeria with a village, Eduanabon located in Osun State. This past August our Malaria Initiative was carried out with the funds raised from our first gala last summer 2011. As part of our Malaria Initiative we were able to educate over 400 residents of Eduabon on reducing the incidence of malaria and also distributed insecticide treated bed nets to pregnant women.
To continue on with our mission we are hosting a second fundraising gala to take place this July 2012. Funds from this upcoming gala will be used to continue on our efforts with the Malaria Initiative and also begin work in strengthening education in Edunabon through:
- Building a community library that will also serve as an educational resource center for students and residents of the village.
- Coordination of book drives that will be useful in the new community library.
- Working together with the local community and government to ensure that there is self-sustenance.
- Development of innovative and effective teaching methods.
We prioritize the need to partner with individuals and other responsible organizations towards accountability and efficiency in our organization. We invite you to partner with us for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
Being that Munaluchi Bridal is an established and well respected company amongst the African community, it will do us a great honor if we can obtain sponsorship and publicity for our gala and our general mission to serve.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to hearing back from you soon, as our 2012 Fundraising gala is fast approaching! Visit us at renovatenigeria.org
