Roselyne and Terry grew up in neighboring towns. Their mothers were even co-workers for many years. But the two actually met through a mutual friend almost 200 miles away from home, while Roselyne was at school and where Terry had already laid down his roots. It didn’t take long for Roselyne and Terry to see that they were meant to be. So just a short time after the two began courting, Terry got down on one knee.
Still, family and friends waited almost five years for the wedding. “We knew it would be on my May 10th of some year because it’s my grandfather’s birthday,” Roselyne says. “He taught me how a man is supposed to be and how he is supposed to treat his wife. He helped shape me into the woman I am today. I grew up calling him ‘Daddy’ because that’s the role he played in my life.”
Both lovers of the outdoors, garden elements were a must have. Roselyne came to a timeless Garden Vintage Glam theme which was perfect as she remembered visiting the historic Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Estates as a child. She described the landscape, gardens, and wide variety of fruit trees to Terry which reminded him of growing up in Haiti. On a site visit, he spotted Francique, Haitian mangoes and that sealed the deal.
On the big day, the skies opened up for a momentary rainfall. As the rain subsided, Roselyne and Terry came together for the first look, the only time in the entire day that the bride and groom ended up spending alone. Roselyne recalls her most treasured wedding memory. “Terry watched me stalk and listened to me talk about this dress for almost a year but he hadn’t seen it until that moment. The look on his face was priceless and that moment is all ours.”
Self-proclaimed die hard country music fans, friends and family were surprised when the adorable couple chose Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” as their first dance number. Guests were also in for quite a treat when the beautiful Haitian couple decided on an indoor cocktail hour featuring island cuisine to give everyone a taste of the Caribbean. When it came to treats, the couple searched high and low to find a bakery that would create a full gluten-free dessert station to cater to the bride’s severe gluten intolerance; Paddy Cakes Gluten Free Bakery was the answer.
It humbles us to know that MunaLuchi Bride was one of the bride’s major sources of inspiration. The ring around Roselyn’s finger also inspired her to go after her passion in event planning and design, leading to the creation of Ring Around Rose Events. “I hope to be able to inspire and help other women by bringing their rare precious moment and visions to reality,” Roselyne declares. While Roselyne works on gardening the weddings of future brides to be, Roselyne and Terry’s love continues to grow in a very special garden of their own.

Quick Facts
Favorite item on menu: My favorite menu items were the desserts. it was a full gluten-free dessert station. I have a severe gluten intolerance but wanted to also enjoy the food so we searched hi and low to find a bakery that made treats that would have even the non gluten-free lover wanting more.
First dance song: “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran
Bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts: We chose to gift our bridal party with the accessorial items they would wear on the wedding day. so for the ladies we purchased 3 different Kate Spade idiom bracelets. For the guys we gifted them pink and grey argyle socks, pink suspenders and bowtie. We figured they could always use the items again. In keeping with “Love Grows Here” the entire wedding party (guys and gals) helped put together the DIY plantable recycled paper wedding favors kit from the RecycledIdeas shop on etsy. The favor included a biodegradable pot, planter box, seed paper and soil pellets. Each guest is now able to shower their flower with love and watch it grow.
Wedding Advice
Take a moment to analyze your vision goals and plans for your wedding… Make a list, prioritizing the things you want and things that are most important. Then come to the realization not all things will be possible or happen. I am just being honest and realistic. Things like budget, time, venue, vendors, lighting, weather etc. might not come together like you hope but It will come together.
Terry and I decided since I had planning experience from running our company, and other events we would plan and coordinate the wedding on our own. Terry’s intentions were good but it is needless to say I did the majority of the work. He will be the first to tell you “I made sure we had the money and Roselyne planned it all, except for the vintage car and open bar.
So, in the midst of it all remembering what was at the top of our list is what helped me find peace and have a successful and picture perfect wedding. We are married now and I can still find peace in my #1 priority “marry my best friend, the father of my children, my biggest advocate and the love of my life.” Marrying one another is the reason and everything else just happens. Take that advice and watch your own Love story Grow.
