The 85th Academy Awards have come and gone and I’ve had a few days to decompress from the sheer enjoyment of seeing a few of my favorite style mavens rock the red carpet. Lupita Nyong’o owned the evening and stunned in a pleated Nairobi blue Prada Grecian gown {I must find the perfect shade of this trending color for my nails}.
Yes, the gowns are typically the highlight of award shows; however, the stunning details and red carpet beauty trends continue to top the list as to why I watch. I love when celebrities infuse their personal style into their red carpet looks. A bit of sparkle, a pop of color, and a dash of sass are how I described Lupita when she graced the red carpet at both the Oscars and Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party. Beauty trends change constantly; however a vampy lip, smoky eyes, flawless skin, framed brows and effortless glamour will remain relevant for years to come.
Here are a few stunning details & red carpet beauty trends that should remain on your style radar for Spring 2014.
Lupita has inspired naturalistas to embrace their hair and to have fun by adding sparkly accessories. Also, makeup artist Nick Barose went for a makeup look that was truly fit for a star at the Oscars. “I was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor, if she were to go on vacation on an island. It’s ethereal fresh. We wanted [Nyong’o] to look like a modern-day movie star.” {quoted}
