You can’t visit the island without getting a taste of the famous snow cone, doesn’t matter the flavor. Form mango, pineapple, pina colada, and banana to Liliko’i (Passion Fruit), Blue Hawaii, Li Hing Mui, and Tiger’s Blood and everything in between, you’ll want to come here everyday while you’re here. But So enjoy it on your way into or out of the mainland!
If you want to take some fresh pineapple to the mainland, head to a pineapple tour for an all immersive pineapple plantation experience. For even more great local food finds, visit the Aloha Friday Farmers Market which takes place every Friday afternoon. Fresh fruit and other organic finds will make for an incredibly refreshing lunch before you go on your way to experience more of the island.

For animal lovers, the nearby Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary is the place to visit. For nature lovers, visit Maui Nui Botanical Gardens to surround yourself in native and Polynesian-introduced plants or for a sugar rush, head to the Sugar Cane Museum located directly across from the HC&S sugar mill in Puunene. Everywhere you turn on the islands, Hawaiian culture thrives so it won’t be hard finding a place to immerse yourself in all that Hawaii has to offer.

When you’re on an island, embracing excursions on the sea is expected. So be ready to face the water and take in the waves in a way that suits you best. Go wind surfing, take a kite surfing class or a scuba class, snorkel, get out there in the water doing an activity that you believe you’ll have the most fun treasuring. The waves may come and go but the ride is just getting started, so ride the second high wave as long as you can.
