For as long a she can remember, Tiffany has dreamt of having a destination wedding. With a love for travel matched with a nearby destination in mind for family and friends, Jamaica was the perfect location for her big day. The Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, located on the pristine white sand beach of the Caribbean Sea, situated between the sapphire waters of Montego Bay and the Blue Mountains served as the setting for Tiffany and James’s wedding. With clear blue skies in the air and the sun shining, Tiffany and James exchanged vows, eleven years after first meeting.

Tell us about how you met and all about your proposal!
James and Tiffany first met in 2004. That year, Tiffany joined a local gym with a friend and the two would work out together after work. Tiffany took notice of a particular instructor, whom she thought was very attractive and had a great smile. Tiffany mentioned to her friend that she had a slight crush on this guy but would never approach him, as Tiffany is an old-fashioned girl at heart.
Tiffany, her friend, and James would chat briefly from time to time at the gym. Then one day, James joined Tiffany in a workout session taught by a different instructor. From there, the two would chat more often to learn more about each other. Those chats extended to hours of conversations over the phone and hanging out together.
Despite several moves and life changes, Tiffany could always depend on James to be a good friend and to be there. They could go months and months without talking yet pick up right where they left off. They lost touch in 2006 and reconnected in 2009, entering a relationship with each other soon after.
“Our story is unique being that there was no proposal,” Tiffany says. “We got married in a private ceremony in the presence of close family and planned a full celebration and big ceremony on our one year anniversary.”
Wedding Style
I wore a Maggie Sottero Primrose elegant mermaid gown, with a sweetheart neckline, corset lace up back, and chapel length train with abstract roses in full bloom. The theme was elegant, classy, and timeless. My wedding shopping experience was great. Being that I’m very organized and a planner, I started early. I began by exploring options online and then visiting bridal boutiques, etc… I found my dress during my very first visit to a bridal boutique with the approval of my mom, grandmother, Aunt, and Maid of Honor.
Memories
My favorite memories are when my mother crowned my tiara, seeing my groom standing under the arch waiting for me, and being in the presence of all of our family and friends.
Help a bride-to-be out!
Plan early and remember that it’s your day and all about the two of you.
