Tears filled Tavares’s eyes as Melissa made her way down the aisle for their oceanside summer rose wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica. After meeting through a mutual friend and courting for some time, the two were engaged with family surrounding them and soon wed at a place dear to Melissa’s heart.

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
We met in Tallahassee, Florida through a mutual friend and the proposal took place at a family engagement party in Atlanta, Georgia.
Wedding Style
One word: Perfect. I wore a couture strapless beaded top with a tulle bottom. It was an all white piece from Anya Bridal Warehouse in Atlanta, Georgia.
Culture
Yes, my family is Jamaican and his family is American so we incorporated both into the theme, colors, and food. We mainly wanted a nice summery, island tropical theme throughout.
Memories
My favorite memory was waiting to walk out to the pavilion where my fiance was waiting with my father.
