Today’s love story is a Caribbean love connection. Jheanelle is from Jamaica, while Shawn is from Trinidad. If their love were a place, it would probably be a romantic paradise. Now that they are forever joined, they can work on creating an island that is all their own.
This beautiful wedding was decorated by the groom’s mother and planned completely by the bride and groom! Every second of this love celebration was captured by Soul Echo Studios.
The Bride: Jheanelle Peck
The Groom: Shawn Bailey
Their Occupations: Bride– Registered Nurse; Groom – Business Analyst
The Wedding Date: October 9, 2011
The Location: The Westin, Fort Lauderdale, FL
The Meeting and The Proposal …. “We met online. The proposal was very casual at the Bin595 in the Renaissance Hotel….on Valentine’s Day, 2011.”
The Event …. “We went about an extremely methodical planning process and our guide was our budget. We started planning and booking the most expensive things first (i.e. dress, venue, photographer and DJ) and then focused on the [small] details later. We knew that we didn’t want to wait too long after getting engaged and before getting married; so, we set our wedding date for seven months after our engagement. This would give enough time to plan and save. The biggest challenge that we had was trying to get the best quality vendors [within] our budget. In the end, we had to sacrifice on some things that we wanted, such as not having a videographer ….Looking back at it now, those sacrifices were well worth it since we were able to save [for] and pay off the entire wedding before the day of the event.”
The Theme …. “We are a young, vibrant couple so we sought after a contemporary theme. Since we were having a fall wedding, we chose colors to complement those qualities; we went with burnt orange and brown. Kudos to the groom’s mother for the great decorations and center pieces.”
The Most Unforgettable Moment …. “It’s hard to pinpoint the most memorable part of the wedding day but we would say that it was the ceremony. We only had 75 guests and the room the ceremony was held in was perfect for the amount of people we had. It felt extremely intimate as we were able to connect with all of our guests. We had our family right at the front row which added to the emotion and our pastor led a beautiful ceremony. The vibe and atmosphere of the ceremony was awesome!”

“[I love] his attitude. It’s extremely inspiring, strong, and confident!”
Congratulations to both of you. May your marriage be a constant connection, an eternal party and a little piece of paradise right here on earth.
