Mistletoe served as the star that shone on Cathia and Joey. They were members of the same Wellington, FL running club but had never met before the Christmas party they’d both attended. Introduced by a mutual friend, Cathia and Joey began talking that fateful night and journeyed down a path that would lead them to spend every Christmas thereafter as one.
“Joey proposed at one of our favorite local restaurants. He had the ring wrapped in multiple layers. He spent the whole day telling me that he had a little gift for me. As I was opening it, he asked me to marry him. I thought he was practicing so I said “Sure. Of course.” When I finally opened the box, I was shocked and closed it quickly realizing that it was a true proposal. I said yes right away, after catching my breath,” Cathia shares.
The couple solidified their love with a winter ceremony reminiscent of the first time they met. Cathia says she was quite calm the morning of their wedding; a foreign feeling for some brides. But as she made her way down the elevator for the first look with her future husband, her nerves made a quick appearance. Her anxiety soon dissipated as she approached Joey. “Once I saw my husband standing with his back turned and we started talking to one another, my nervousness melted away. Then he turned around and the joy of the moment overwhelmed us both,” she shares.
Ruby red and gold served as their color palette, warm hues for the icy season. Red freedom roses, spray roses, carnations, and burgundy peonies were amongst the flowers that set the tone for the romantic wedding. The dark walls inside The Chesterfield Hotel juxtaposed with the gold and red accents created a luxurious setting for guests.
Through rich and classic designs, passion and love filled the room where Cathia and Joey celebrated the beginning of the rest of their lives together.
