Lori and Kaci met on the leading dating website, match.com. “I think you sign up for online dating hoping to find ‘the one’ but you don’t really think it’s going to happen,” Lori says. It does. After a week of online conversation, the two went on their first date, lasting eight hours. Lori adds, “The day that I discovered Kaci’s profile, I had it set in my mind that I was cancelling my Match membership. I’m so happy I didn’t.”
After dating for two years, Kaci decided to was time to propose. As Lori drove back to New York City from a visit to her hometown of Pittsburgh, traffic keeping her later than expected, Kaci was at their apartment preparing dinner for her. When she walked inside, he handed her a card. “It was a pull out card that had drawings of a couple and in each frame, the man listed everything he did wrong in the relationship (watch too much TV, forget things, and so on). The final portion of the card showed the couple hugging and read I may do all these things wrong, but I sure know how to pick a wife.” When Lori looked up, Kaci was on bended knee.
The lovely couple took to the gorgeous hacienda style villas along the Riviera Maya in Mexico to exchange vows in front of their closest family and friends. Lori fell in love with the first dress she tried on, the simple and sexy Sonato dress from Anne Barge’s Blue Willow Collection. Her dream cathedral veil, strappy Monolo Blahniks gifted by her best friend, along with her “something borrowed,” the perfect vintage chandelier earrings from Kaci’s childhood friend who works in the jewelry industry, brought the entire look together.
In the moonlight, the lovebirds walked along the colorful beach just steps away from their villas, making their way to a fireworks entrance. “To be able to take a step back, watch your wedding and feel all that love was amazing,” Lori reminisces.
Lyrics from four memorable hip hop love songs were embossed in gold on white cocktail napkins for reception attendants. Chef Francesca and her culinary staff, who believe in farm to plate cooking, prepared fish caught earlier that day for guests and the ingredients used for every dish were all local. The glowing bride and groom had an absolutely stunning wedding, serving only the best at their reception and receiving more love than they ever imagined all day long. Filled to the brim with love, their cups ran over and will continue to everyday.

Advice from the bride: Two things…Everyone from our planner, to our photographer, to our chef and beyond were passionate about their craft. When you work with people that genuinely love what they do you are able truly have the wedding of your dreams. Their passion allowed us to have creative freedom. The devil is in the details. Each detail provides a new experience and special moment for your guest to enjoy. It warms my heart when our guests mention all the little things we did to make the wedding special and unique.
