Royal Blue and Yellow Wedding in Toronto: Camasha + Marvin

Have you ever heard those stories about two strangers who meet at a train station and find the love they didn’t realize they’d been missing? Well this is one of those very unique stories. Camasha and Marvin met in line at Warden subway station when Camasha was fishing in her purse for change as she didn’t want to be charged an extra 50 cents for using her bank card. She’d been holding up the line and Marvin was running a little late for work so he offered to pay for both their orders in an attempt to speed things up. She replied with a simple no thanks, insisting that her she had the money but Marvin was just as relentless so he offered again and she reluctantly obliged. “I got up to the subway podium a minute later she was heading towards with me. She said thank you for your help but I’m not comfortable taking money from anyone let alone a stranger. She said please take my change I was short only 15 cents. I smiled said it’s no big deal really, she said then take it please. I took it just as the train was pulling in,” he shares. The packed train happened to have two empty seats available so the freshly acquainted pair ended up sitting next to one another. They exchanged names and started conversing. He gave her his phone number because of her connections in his line of work as a chef and they went their separate ways. Later on that night, he received a call from Camasha inviting him to her 32nd birthday party as there would be a lot of opportunities to network. Not being much of a club guy Marvin kindly declined. “Two hours later after thinking why didn’t I go. I called Camasha up but she said they already left. The next day wondering if too soon to call her I picked up the phone and asked how her birthday party went and we kept playing phone tag since then,” he shares.

Wedding location: Toronto, CanadaDescribe your wedding dress style. How was your shopping experience?Wedding dress shopping was exciting and overwhelming. At first I was clueless to what I wanted and what my bridal style was. I figured whatever modest dress I tried on and feel in love with that’s the dress for me.

I went to four bridal boutiques, four bridal shows and tried on 17 dresses before I found the ones.
Yes I found two dresses at the same bridal boutique that I didn’t want to take off and didn’t want to chose between. Very grateful to my mom I didn’t have too.

My short sleeve Queen Anne neckline with a keyhole back by Casablanca. This wedding dress is composed of beaded lace over satin. The bodice is strapless under the attached Queen Anne sleeves and has a sweetheart neckline. There is a trim of pleated organza around the bust and a fit and flare style which closely hugs my body and gradually flares out and has a cascading lace chapel length train.

My second dress is a Mori Lee by Angelina Faccenda. This flawlessly modern, elegant fit and flare gown is a strapless sweetheart neckline, sparkling intricate cascading beaded detail throughout, and button detail at the back with stunning cathedral train which was so light I could,ve danced all night in this dress.

I found out that fit and flare was my style after all.How was culture incorporated in your wedding?
Our intimate ceremony was faith based. We are so blessed to have met each other in the way we did and developed the love we have not only for ourselves but our combined family. Because we both put God first in our hearts knew it was not luck we met but divine intervention. God sent us for each other and for our children.

We recommitted our lives to God and renewed our faith as Seventh Day Adventist the day before our wedding by getting baptized.
To us our marriage is a covenant between us and God so we decided to write our vows and have our pastor do the traditional vows plus share his own words on the topic of marriage.
Meeting each other halfway up the aisle symbolizes us going and get each other each other out of anywhere and anything, being there for each other no matter what and to always remember our marriage is forever and once for us as we we not believe in divorce.
Seeing each other up close, face to face, side by side and knowing we were finally going to become man and wife was overwhelmingly intense in such beauty and excitement, we were so ready.

To us our hour and half long ceremony was the l religious beginning of our committed marriage and to our family.What is your best memory from your wedding day?
Our most magical memory that we will forever remember is our first dance. In that moment we felt like there was no one else in the room, we got so lost in each other and the moment that we started singing along and whispering in each other’s ear.What advice do you have for our brides-to-be?
My advice to other engaged couples would be focus on what’s really important about your wedding. In-cooperate what’s really special to you both. Stick to your budget and within both your means. Whatever the decor or theme, perfect details and must haves in making your wedding day beautiful and memorable should be about you both. Enjoy each other no matter what the flow of your day is like and remember your wedding day which should be treasured is one day but your marriage is a lifetime.Vendors
