Love always has a way of walking into your life when you least expect it. And Agatha and Taran’s story mirrors how much of a chance encounter love is. “Our romance started at my sister’s birthday party. Taran was being extra helpful to me, but I didn’t think anything of it”, shares Agatha. It wasn’t until the following day, when she spoke to a mutual friend that Agatha discovered that her helping hand, was also her admirer. “She told me who it was and said that he wanted to go on a date. I was a bit hesitant at first but I accepted”, says Agatha.
For their first date, the two went for sushi and drinks and though Agatha describes the outing as being “slightly awkward”, when Taran asked for a second date, she sweetly accepted his invite. “We had an amazing second date and the rest is history”, shares Agatha.

Tell us about the proposal!
Agatha: We often take trips to the Out islands of the Bahamas. We both love the island of Bimini, so we decided to celebrate the New Year there. On New Year’s Day we stumbled across a quaint little bar called Ebbies overlooking the waterfront. We were having drinks and talking with the bartender and Taran expressed his love for me and jokingly proposed with a key ring so I humored him and said “sure”.
He excused himself from the bar, for about ten minutes and came back with a box. He then got on his knees asked me to marry him in the most beautiful way and of course I said yes.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
Agatha: Our session was a lot of fun, I warned Stanley (our photographer) that I was not exactly photogenic, but he alleviated my fears by guiding our poses. He’s the best! We don’t have a theme, but our colors are black and white. Simple, sophisticated and chic – just like us!
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
We’re most looking forward to the first time our eyes meet as I walk down the isle. We also look forward to good food, music and lots of fun with our loved ones.

Judgmental much? He obviously liked it and her enough to put a ring on it, so deal.
