Tying all the loose ends and minor details before saying “I do” is one tough feat. With many brides being so focused on other aspects related to their big day, the wedding bouquet, a primary staple that all brides glide down the aisle with, is surprisingly a detail least thought about! However, planner Stephanie White of Amorous Weddings & Events is here to save the day! She is guest blogging today to share her insider tips to help brides select the perfect wedding day bouquet – read on for more!
The wedding bouquet – believe it or not – is a topic that is rarely discussed, while how to go about choosing one is something many couples know little of. The “flower talk” is usually done in the beginning stages of the planning process because it is completely reliant on the wedding date.
As a professional wedding planner, I encourage my brides to make sure they put some real thought into the flowers (or flower substitutions) they chose for their wedding day. So with that in mind, I’ve compiled a couple of helpful tips to help you choose the best bouquet for your big day.

Are you the “Flower Bride”? The lover of all things floral – the smells, the colors, the variety… and one who you’d expect to see a truck load of flowers on her wedding day? Let’s channel all that flower power into the basics. I would suggest to first start by tailoring your florals by the season, and then the month of your wedding.Photo Credit: Dana Gibbons, 3dphotography and Design | Bouquet: Blooming Expressions Flowers | Bridal Gown: Strut Bridal | Couple: Samantha & Jeff Kinkade
If the flowers you really, really want are not in season… you’re going to have to make some concessions. While there are some fake alternatives, nothing beats the real thing. So plan wisely. Also, take into consideration the smell of the flowers your chose for the bouquet. Or are you a “Bling-Bride”? If you are the bride who couldn’t care less about flowers, but loves the bling-bling (and who doesn’t?) you can try something a little less traditional with a brooch bouquet. I love this idea and most of my brides do too! Photo Credit: Christina Depoy, Depoy Studios | Brooch Bouquet: Brooch Bouquets by B | Dress: Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique | Model: Michelle Ongaga
Collect brooches at your bridal shower or during a girl’s night out with the ladies who are important to you and support your wedding. Ask each of them to bring a brooch of their choice. Keep them and make a brooch bouquet. Okay, actually, have the florist make your brooch bouquet. The end result will really surprise you. It’s a pretty exciting idea – especially since you have now created a bouquet with meaning, and I’m sure you will cherish it for years to come.
