Remember when we featured Ashley and Julius’ charming engagement session at High Museum of Art in Atlanta, (shot by coterie member LaJoy Hunter) back in the Spring? Well now this lovely pair have swapped summer “I do’s” in a rustic-chic, Georgia peach colored ceremony at the posh, Summerour Studios in Atlanta!
While Ashley & Julius’ ceremony was über romantic, Ashley shares that the two met in the most non-romantic manner – at a college house party. Following their meeting the two would contact one another occasionally but after a few months the chats became more frequent and much longer. And just as love always works – feelings slowly began to develop making room for the two to become more than just friends.
When it came time for the proposal, Julius selected the couple’s first vaykay in the Dominican Republic as the setting. “We had arrived at our hotel and I was getting unpacked and changing to go out for dinner. Next, Julius gave me a poem that led to him asking me to marry him. My answer was, ‘are you serious?’ I wasn’t expecting anything close to a proposal” shares Ashley. As Julius’ heart raced Ashley grew concerned that something more serious was wrong but he was simply nervous! “He asked again and I of course said yes!” says Ashley.
