Ashley and Curtis met 10 years ago at a local bar during a night out with friends. Curtis kept giving Ashley a “mesmerizing stare” and eventually, she finally approached him. “We spent the rest of the evening yelling over the music, getting to each other” shares Ashley. Once the evening ended, in true gentlemanly form, he politely walked her to her car and asked for her phone number. And the next day, he called her to ask her on the date – and as they always say, the rest was indeed history!
“The day he proposed, we were looking for houses. We found one we both really liked, but didn’t put in an offer that day” says Ashley. Shortly after looking at the house the pair now live in, Curtis asked Ashley to invite her parents over for dinner. The two next went shopping for the meal and headed back home. “Shortly after my parents arrived, my fiancé and step-father went up stairs without saying a word to us” says Ashley.
Turns out, Curtis was asking her step-father for permission to ask for Ashley’s hand in marriage. And shortly after receiving his blessing, Curtis asked Ashley to marry him. “I swear, I felt like 10 mins went by before I officially said yes, but I was seriously in shock. My mom was holding on to my left hand and wouldn’t let go so he could put the ring on. Finally, my mom let go of my hand so I could get the bling-bling on my finger!” says Ashley. Following several tears, hugs and laughs, Ashley’s mom swiftly began planning the two’s engagement party! So sweet!

What is your best memory from your wedding?
