With both distance and 7 long years separating Bryon and LaChandra, it was merely a blessing from the heavens that allowed the couple to rekindle. The pair shared their “I do’s” this past Spring in an Elegant Outdoor Southern Wedding in Mansfield, TX. Now, the bride and groom, whom are still reveling in marital bliss, are sharing more on their fateful love story and Byron’s adorable surprise holiday proposal. Read on for more while viewing the couple’s wedding photos that were gorgeously captured by coterie member, Jackson Wedding Studios.
Byron:“The most amazing thing about life is, you never know what God has in store for you. In search of a high school prom date, LaChandra and I became acquainted through a mutual friend who introduced us and suggested we go to prom together. LaChandra was a Junior and I had never seen her before. However, she seemed different than other girls and I knew at that moment something was special about her. In a short 2 week time span before prom, we developed a friendship and a respect for each other that was by no means short-term. Though distance and time separated us for 7 long years, fate would bring us back together again. In 2011, phone conversation turned into dates and dates turned into an everlasting love. God has a plan and in this plan we are meant to be.”
LaChandra: “The biggest question of 2015 was, ‘When are y’all going to get married?’ Byron and I knew that marriage was part of our vision for 2016, but it wasn’t until we enrolled in pre-marital counseling through Concord Church that we realized more importantly, it was part of God’s vision for our lives. I knew the proposal was imminent, but I had no idea when or how Byron was going to make it happen. The suspense was driving me insane and just when my patience was about to run out, it happened!”
“On December 11th, 2015, we planned a Christmas Photo shoot. Unbeknownst to me, Byron coordinated the surprise with the photographer and they were able to catch me completely off guard. After snapping a few warm-up shots, the photographer called me over to view the pictures on the camera screen. When we were done, I turned back around to find Byron down on one knee saying, “I guess this is the perfect time.” My jaw hit the floor and the photographer was able to capture the proposal perfectly! After he asked and I said yes, the rest of the photo-shoot was a success due to the permanent smile plastered across my face, the bling on my finger, and the love in our hearts.”

Describe your wedding dress and your favorite wedding accessory!
I wore an Allure Bridal Gown. It was a fit and flare with lace and ruffles. Never thought I’d go for the dress I ended up with, but isn’t that what all brides say? My favorite wedding accessory would have to be my something borrowed. It was a 15 year old Tennis bracelet that my Uncle Danny gave my Aunt Ven before he passed away.
