When you sign up for a dating site like Match.com, your profile picture is probably one of the most important steps in completing your profile. How do you want to be perceived by potential “matches”? What kind of impression do you want to make? Ironically, in Marsha’s case, she had all of the steps completed in her profile…except a profile picture. And it was her lack of a profile picture that prompted Edwin to message her after an initial “wink” on his match.com profile. The two exchanged pictures, which led to a phone conversation, which led to a quick meet and greet at Cafe Intermezzo. But it wasn’t really that quick. They talked for hours, eventually being kindly asked to leave as the restaurant owner needed to close for the night. There was nothing denying that Marsha and Edwin had an instant love connection. Five years after they made things official, Edwin proposed in New Orleans during a friend’s birthday party and right before the six year anniversary of the day they met, they’ll be tying the knot in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We look forward to seeing how the wedding unfolds. Thanks for sharing your love story with us Marsha and Edwin!
Couple: Marsha Middleton & Edwin Archer
Occupations: Founder/President of M-Squared Public Relations & Founder of Arch Enterprise, Inc.
Wedding date: February 18, 2017
Wedding location: Montego Bay, Jamaica
Engagement session location: Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta and Atlanta Botanical Garden
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
The shoot at the hotel tells a story about our day-to-day life, which includes Marsha’s involvement in a lot of Atlanta charities and events and Edwin who often escorts her to them. Therefore, we chose to dress up in our fun ‘going out’ attire at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta, one of the city’s most popular hotels.
We did the garden shoot because our wedding and reception will take place in a garden in Montego Bay, Jamaica, so we wanted to capture the garden feel in our engagement photos.
What did you do on your first date? We dined at a cafe. I had tea and Edwin ordered a full meal. It was better for [me] to watch him eat than to take the chance that even a crumb of something would fall as [I] bit into it…and embarrass [myself].
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Travel. We have traveled the globe (Spain, London, Bermuda, Barbados, Jamaica, Paris, etc) and still have a list of places to visit.
How has wedding planning been so far? Fun! We have an amazing wedding planner [Scoobie West & Company] and Edwin’s sister is on the ground in Jamaica to do a lot of things that would be more difficult to finalize, remotely.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. Celebrating with our friends and family! We want our day to feel like the best day party, ever!
