Who says you can’t mix business and pleasure? They surely haven’t met Charisse and Mikel. The lovely couple met at work, bonded and have been together ever since. Their downtown chill engagement session was photographed by Comfort Witcher of Comfort Photography. Enjoy this pretty, easy-breezy e-session.
The Bride: Charisse Crews
The Groom: Mikel Mixon
Occupations: Financial Industry
The Wedding Date: 08.17.2012
The Location: Downtown Ohio
The Meeting ….. “Charisse and I met at work. I was new to the company and we had a mutual friend that introduced us. Charisse and I went to a couple charity events together and our friendship got stronger everytime we hung out. After 8 months of friendship, we made it official.”
The Proposal ….. “I proposed to Charisse at our baby shower for our first daughter together. I thought this would be the perfect time to do it because all of her family and friends were there. I wanted them to be a part of one of the best days of my life because they have made such an amazing impact in hers. I asked her father for permission first, so I knew it was the perfect time.”
Planning the Wedding ….. “We don’t really have a true theme to our wedding but, of course, we know it is going to be a huge party. We are having a photobooth, great music, food and drinks. One aspect of our wedding that is very important is our balloon release. Charisse’s mother died of breast cancer, so we are going to pay our respects and do a balloon release for her and all the loved once who are watching from above. We are incorporating pink ribbons throughout the ceremony and reception in memory of her mother.”
Planning Challenges ….. “The most difficult part of wedding planning is not having my mother here. Often times I get stumped on what flowers to get or different aspects of the wedding and I don’t have her to ask for advice.”
On incorporating Culture ….. “We are going to “Jump the Broom” and have our pastor lead us in a prayer. Other than that, we are going to try to make it as unique as possible. We are a blended family becoming one, so we will do the sand ceremony with all the kids. The balloon release, to represent all the ones who have past away and could not be present, will be preceeded by a traditional Baptist prayer.”
{You Make Loving You So Easy}
He loves ….. “I love that Charisse is the most caring woman I have ever met. I have never met a person who will literally give their last to make sure that a total stranger is okay. She loves her family and friends and she tries her best to show them at every opportunity she can. She is an amazing mother and she loves me unconditionally.”
She loves ….. “There are so many things about him I love! But I love that Mike is so thoughtful and considerate. He sends me flowers just to brighten my day and will leave notes throughout the house that say “love you” or “can’t wait for you to be my wife”. Even if Mike has a million things going on, he will still take time out to make sure I am having a great day. He has also accepted my daughter as his own, which to me is PRICELESS!”
