Throughout history it has been said that wine is a gift from the gods and the vineyard a sacred place. For Kara, no setting could have been more perfect to celebrate her most special of days than her family’s vineyard in beautiful North Carolina. A place that holds many symbolic qualities and personal special memories, and will now include the moment She and Adrian were forever joined together as husband and wife.
This homegrown couple first met locally at a North Carolina Diner following an evening party at which they both attended but didn’t formally meet until sharing that late night meal. From that moment on they would become a permanent fixture in each other’s lives.
After asking her parents permission – an honorable tradition of merit – Adrian completely surprised Kara with a engagement proposal during their yearly trip to Myrtle Beach. Kara would find her wedding day to be filled with “special emotions that are indescribable.”

Bride & Groom: Kara Holden & Adrian Ward
Occupations: Bride – Clinical Psychologist
Wedding date: May 28, 2016
Wedding location: Private Vineyard, Wendell, North Carolina
Tell us how you met and all about the proposal! We met at a local Raleigh diner. We were at the same party earlier that night, but did not meet each other until we ended up at the same location for a late night meal.
Adrian proposed during our yearly Myrtle Beach trip. I was utterly surprised! I had no idea he was even considering a proposal, especially since we lived in separate states. He sat down with my parents and asked for my hand in marriage and they surprisingly did not spill the beans!
Wedding Style: The dress designer was Ramona Keveza, and the dress was a sweetheart neckline with sheer overlay, cut low in the back, and was made with french lace. I complimented the look with a sheer over-skirt and cathedral veil.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? The ceremony was held in front of my father’s vineyard, so we fused the vineyard theme with southern charm and added an elegant aesthetic.

What is your best memory from your wedding? My best memory of the wedding is the breathtaking location. To be married on my family’s property elicits special emotions that are indescribable.
Adrian’s best memory is how overwhelmed with joy he was at the love and support we received from our family and friends.
Other details: Kara and Adrian had an outdoor, vineyard inspired wedding in Wendell, NC. The wedding ceremony took place in front of her family’s vineyard and the reception was in a custom tent in the backyard of the family home. Kara wanted a white wedding with bold pops of fuchsia and yellow throughout.
For their ceremony, Lil Mo serenaded the couple as Kara walked down the aisle and throughout their nuptials. Lil Mo also provided a concert during the reception for the couple and their wedding guests.
