“Take me as I am.” The importance of this phrase echoes throughout every aspect of a relationship and is at the root of true happiness. To be loved and accepted for the person you are and not the person another wishes you to be is a gift we all search for in life. It is equally blissful to know that you can genuinely reciprocate this sentiment, to be able to give your love whole-heartedly is just as gratifying as feeling that love returned.
When exploring the engagement session of Taquoya & Dave, there is an evident genuine and endearing quality so prevalent at the foundation of their love that it appears visible on the surface. In Taquoya’s words, “take me as I am,” we find the key to knowing you’ve found your soulmate, and it is clear that they’ve unlocked that door.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal:
Dave ~ I first met Taquoya nearly 6 years ago. I came back to work from vacation and there was a beautiful new girl sitting at my desk. At first I was taken aback, I was concerned about all of the snacks that I had acquired and if they were still in my possession, but once I got past that, I was smitten with the beautiful woman that would one day become my wife.
The Proposal: Taquoya ~ February 28, 2015 was a magical morning although it started off like any other day. I was an early riser per usual although he did not expect it for some reason. David rushed out of bed giving me instruction not to move and started breakfast. One would have thought that I would have felt the urge to get fabulously dressed in preparation for what might be awaiting me downstairs. Not at all. I remained in Pjs with messy hair. I always used to tell Dave “take me as I am” and that is exactly what he got. He escorted me downstairs to a candlelit breakfast with all of my favorite menu items, rose petals scattered across the floor, champagne, and a box wrapped in a bow sitting on the table. As I sat, he was already down on bended knee.
