Being inseparable ever after is a rare gift, a perfect joy, an absolute bliss that most of us hope to achieve. Every moment together is to know true love and feels as if you are the only two people on earth. For Lesley and Edward it was love at first sight and they “have been inseparable since that day.”

Bride & Groom: Lesley & Edward
Occupations: Nurse & Fashion Designer
Wedding date: 7/15/16
Wedding location: The Surf Club on the Sound, New Rochelle, New York
Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Eddie and I met at a basketball game in Harlem. We have been inseparable since that day. Eddie proposed to me by throwing me a surprise engagement party. I thought I was going to his mother’s birthday party.
Wedding style. The theme of the wedding was African royalty. I wanted two dramatic wedding dresses that represented that. One dress was a ballroom gown that had a skirt filled with feathers and the second dress was mermaid with a dramatic flair bottom that has a long train with feathers as well. Wedding dress shopping was so much fun and easy for me. As soon as I tried my dresses on I knew that was it. The colors of the wedding was royal purple and gold. That is why Eddie’s jackets were purple and gold.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? Culture was incorporated. We had African dancers there proceeding our entrance and table numbers named after African Kings and Queens. Our favorite movie is “Coming to America” so it was important for us to incorporate aspects of the movie into our wedding.
Bridemaids/Groomsmen gifts: Bridesmaids – Robes, Groomsmen – Custom bow ties made by the groom.
Favorite item on the menu: Steak. Eddie and I love steak.
First dance song: Luther Vandross’ “Here and Now.”
What are your best memories from the wedding? Our best memories from our wedding day was our first look shoot. That was the first time we saw each other that day and we had an amazing photographer. Also us entering the reception was another amazing memory because all of our family members and friends were there to greet us and show us so much love.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Have fun planning your wedding. Go all out because it’s your big day. Surround yourself with positive people that will support you, and most importantly get an amazing wedding planner to coordinate your day.
