The chances of discovering the love of your life is certainly rare, but to randomly select a person in the crowd as an example only to find out that they actually are the love of your life is rare beyond description. Perhaps it was fate, that evening out with a friend, when LaToya pointed to Tommy amongst the crowd. In the moment it was an impulse, but perhaps it was guided by a higher power, as Tommy would turn out to be the man she would spend the rest of her life with.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: Tommy and I met at a club. I was having a girls night out with my friends and one of my friends asked me what kind of guys do you like LaToya? I said,”I don’t know, nice ones.” She said, “Point to one in here.” I pointed across the room to Tommy. I said, “Him!” She said, “Okay let’s go stand near him.” We walked over to stand next to Tommy. He immediately began a conversation with me, got my number and called me everyday until our first date. We always say we’ve been together since the night we met.
Tommy proposed January 1, 2014.
What was wedding shopping like for you? Pnina Tornai at Kleinfeld’s New York. Shopping for my wedding dress was a special experience because I was filmed by TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress. I tried on three dresses and the third one was the charm. With the help of my mom and best friends I chose the most perfect dress, a Pnina Tornai ballgown.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? I incorporated the famous New Orleans second line dance to my wedding. It was one of my favorite parts of the wedding because it felt like I was back home on the streets of New Orleans.
Bridesmaids/Groomsmen gifts: Bridesmaids – Amazon Kindles, Groomsmen – NFL hats of their favorite teams.
Favorite item on the menu: Sorbet ice cream drizzled with tequila (palate cleanser)
First dance song: Norah Jones – “Come Away With Me”
What is your best memory from your wedding? My favorite memory of my wedding was when I saw Tommy for the first time at our first look. It was love at first sight again. I will never forget that moment.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? The best advice I can give engaged couples is hire a wedding planner and let the bride have what she wants!
