Recognized as a national historic landmark, the iron produced from the Sloss Furnaces assisted in building the city of Birmingham, Alabama. Featured in this creative styled shoot we visually see the literal combination of industrial design and chic fashion – bringing elements of Birmingham’s past economic roots into modern concepts of bridal elegance. Showcasing the work of MunaLuchi Coterie members, Brittany B Events, YNOT iMages photography, a gorgeous industrial chic cake from Cakes by Kim, and makeup artistry by Coco Moore Makeup. See the complete gallery here, and the complete vendor list below.
Inspired by the beauty of the “Magic City”, members of the Birmingham Coterie, decided to combine their talents to create this unique shoot as an ode to their hometown Birmingham, Alabama. To bring their vision to life, they decided to showcase some of that “magic” by choosing their backdrop to be the historical Sloss Furnaces, which played a significant role in the progression of the iron and steel industry here in Birmingham. This development of the shoot was led by Birmingham based wedding planner, Brittany Bell of Brittany B Events, and her assistant, Callie Finney.
Using the color scheme of copper, grey, ivory, and navy, they sought to bring the authenticity of their surroundings alive. The photographer, and founder of YNOT IMages, Antonio Minifield made sure to capture the magic of this beautiful, historic landmark through innovative shots with OCF and natural lighting. Our model bride, Dawn Ashley Pope, is wearing a glamorous wedding gown from Imperial Formalwear; and our little flower girl, McKenzie Patterson is sporting a lovely, one of a kind dress from Pantora Bridal. The flawless makeup looks created for the shoot were done by Shecovia Moore of CoCo Moore Makeup.
To enhance the theme of the shoot, the stylist incorporated stationary from AList Invitations, linen from Decor to Adore, chairs from Event Rentals Unlimited, and floral arrangements from Marie Lusain. We all know that the wedding is not complete without a cake. The triple decker cake featured in the shoot, with its outer layers reminiscent of the abstract beauty of its surroundings, was created by Cakes by Kim.
