Love is unbound, adhering to it’s own “proper” time and place. For Camille and Carlos, that time and place would not be their initial meeting as co-workers, but twelve years later when they “bumped into each other in the subway.” It was an “instant connection,” love at second sight, and a relationship immediately sparked to life. Two beautiful children later, and with their love as strong as ever, it was “the right place and the right time” to be joined together as husband and wife.
Read all about Camille & Carlos’ love story, romantic proposal, and experiences in their intimate, vintage-styled industrial chic wedding – beautifully captured by New Jersey MunaLuchi Coterie Ambassador Nana Annan of Nana Annan Photography.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. We initially met in our twenties while working at Macy’s Herald Square. Twelve years later, we bumped into each another in the subway and we immediately started dating. It was an instant connection. Two beautiful children later, we thought about marriage but since I was preoccupied with taking care of a little one, I didn’t really think too much about it until one day I woke up to see a shiny diamond on my nightstand. And with a little baby in between us on our bed, he proposed and I of course said yes.
What was wedding shopping like for you? My wedding dress is a vintage inspired bespoke calf-length champagne lace over satin dress made by the House of Mooshki based in England. I knew I wanted to wear a short dress for my wedding and I liked their style of wedding dresses but didn’t know how I would be able to travel to England in a short amount of time. It was by luck that I happened to visit their Facebook page where they announced they would be coming to New York for a trunk show. The fitting happened in a boutique hotel they paid attention to the details that I wanted in my dress. My mother came with me for the fittings to provide support.
Favorite item on the menu: The cake
First dance song: Come Away With Me (Norah Jones)
What is your best memory from your wedding? My best memory was walking to Carlos during the ceremony. I thought I wasn’t going to cry walking down the aisle. After being with him for over eleven years, I thought this would simply be us sealing the deal after all of these years. But, I really got emotional because this was the right place and the right time for us to be married. My spirit really felt happy and at ease knowing this moment had finally come.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Hire a wedding planner! For me, I didn’t take into consideration our work schedules and having two active children. It was very hard to sit down and plan out things without rushing.
