Art Deco is a style that has made a comeback recently and with more of my brides asking for this style and how to achieve it, I decided to create an inspiration shoot inspired by this era. The high fashion, sparkling gold, and authentic details of this time is the basis for this shoot with a modern spin of course.
Located in historic Chapel Hill, North Carolina is The Carolina Inn which houses the art deco styled, Old Well Ballroom. This historic venue features gilded chandeliers, a black and white marble floor and dramatic black columns.
Monica Noa of Nouveau Events who was the mastermind behind the styling, spent time researching the era to bring the entire concept together. She was ultimately inspired by geometric patterns and gold leaf used in Art Deco. These amazing images were beautifully captured by Renee Sprink Photography worked hard to capture all of the beautiful details, fashion and architecture that this shoot possessed.
For our Art Deco shoot, it was the details are what brought everything together. Monica really wanted to play on the traditional while incorporating the modern so she worked with Embellished Blooms to create lush suspended floral arrangements complete with gilded gold candlesticks and an Art Deco styling of roses. The bridal bouquet has classical, but lose style complete with anemones, roses, and greenery. Our escort cards were custom-cut gold names of famous authors of the 1920’s and the Harlem Renaissance. The bride and groom chairs were also adorned with a love quote, “And Suddenly…You Were My Everything.” Our custom invitation suite and dinner menus feature a geometric pattern and gold sparkle. A modern spin on timeless truffles and chocolate mouse miniature desserts were featured on beveled cut glass stems. The wedding cake featured gold foil and a geometric design to complement of stationery suite. wedding cake along with miniature desserts fit for an y Renaissance couple. The tablescape featured beveled glassware, gold flatware and Art Deco inspired plates complete with a custom menu.
