Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. We met in 2009 on the beautiful campus of Florida A&M. Taylor approached me after a history class and we instantly became friends. After a year of friendship we decided to go on our first date which was the county fair. We realized that we shared a love for food and trying new things. We continued to date through college. On March 19th 2016 Taylor proposed to Tasha at the National Mall right in front of the Ferris wheel, which was where the two had their first date upon moving to the D.C area.
Describe your engagement session. Our wedding will be formal and romantic, yet fun. We wanted to showcase our sophisticated DC taste and style but also pay homage to the University that was responsible for bringing us together. Our theme is elegant romance with soft hues of blush, rose gold, gold and hints of navy.
What did you do on your first date? Our first date was the county fair. We pigged out on everything bad and fried while talking for hours about everything.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We are still big foodies! (We just now appreciate good food). We love cooking together, and we are constantly finding new eatery’s and food trucks in the DMV area.
How has wedding planning been so far? I am enjoying wedding planning! Taylor has been a huge help and support. Our family is super supportive of our marriage and have helped planned several events such as our wonderful Gatsby themed engagement party. My girls are truly amazing in assisting with everything I need. I will admit I am a true bridezilla.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. I am looking forward to seeing all of our supportive family and friends. We are truly blessed and I cannot wait to start this journey with Taylor.
