Love can be found in many places, quite often in places and at times when you least expect it. In the pursuit of love we will attempt to look our best, hang out in the known social settings, and yet that sought-out moment with someone special may present itself under the most trivial of circumstances. For Charleeta that meeting would take place at a local bank, “at the time, I owned a small business and needed a new credit card processor,” she fondly remembers, “as soon as I walked into the bank, Andre offered a helping hand and of course later asked for my number. As days went on, we spent countless hours chatting on the phone until our first date. Long story short, Andre’ has been a great helpmate ever since our chance encounter at his job.”
Sometimes the perfect proposal is no proposal; a couple may just know without question that spending the rest of their lives together as husband and wife is a definite future. This was exactly the case for Charleeta and Andre, “after two and a half years of dating and him being away in the Navy,” Charleeta recalls, “we decided it was best to go to the courthouse and get married. However, we knew it wasn’t over because my father always dreamed of giving his youngest daughter away and we also wanted to celebrate in front of our close friends and family.”
Charleeta and Andre’s wedding took place at the Montaluce Winery in Alpharetta, Georgia. The rolling hills and vineyard scenery were the perfect ethereal backdrop for this intimate and stylish ceremony. The rustic wine culture decor and white florals were complemented by the cream, earthy greens, deep reds, and dark purple color themes.
After an exhausting search for the perfect gown Charleeta sparkled as she was escorted beside her proud father down the aisle in a stunning trumpet-style gown with sweetheart neckline, graphic lace, and sequins in a intimate and emotional ceremony. For their first dance the newlyweds chose “Can’t Get Enough” by Tamia. A favorite menu item of the evening was classic shrimp and grits.
What is your best memory from your wedding? I have so many wonderful memories from our wedding but the best memories were the groom’s dance with his mother and my 10 year old niece’s speech at the reception saying Andre is her ‘hero.’ Andre chose the uptempo classic ‘Shotgun’ to dance with his mother because of their fond memories of dancing together during the intro of his favorite tv show ‘The Cosby Show.’
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engage couples? Don’t sweat the small stuff and focus on what’s truly important…the marriage. Everything will work out the way it is suppose to. Also make sure you enjoy your day and take lots of pictures. The day goes by fast and memories last forever!
