Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal. Patrick and I met almost 10 years ago. At the time, I was a waitress at Pizza Hut. We dated for about a year before we had our first child together. As Patrick and I begin our new lives as parents, everything was great. Several factors caused our love to change over the years and we split. We both agreed that if we were meant to be together, true love would allow that to happen. We rekindled our love for one another, and during that time our son was born. On June 7th, 2017 Patrick and I along with some friends decided to take a trip to Punta Cuna in the Dominican Republican for a much needed vacation. The night of the arrival we all changed for dinner for a night out on the resort. His initial plan, that I later discovered, was for us to have dinner and he would propose to me on the beach. Unfortunately it began to rain. So we decided to sit in a small lounge section and watch a live performance. As Patrick pulled my chair out for me to sit down, I begin to slowly turn around. As I begin to turn around, he was on one knee asking me to marry him. Honestly I didn’t take him seriously because he is such a comedian. As I sat in awe he asked me again to marry him and I proudly said “YES”! I didn’t get emotional in public, but I did shed a few tears to myself. It seems like each day becomes better and better with Patrick by my side.
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was so much fun! During the session there was laughter and chemistry on and off the set. Originally we didn’t really have a specific theme but as the session went on, I guess one could say that it was pretty sensual. Before the engagement session my mind was all over the place with ideas. With the help of JLP Photography and his team, I think we chose the perfect location.
What did you do on your first date? For our first date Patrick asked me out for a dinner and movie.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Since we have kids, it seems almost impossible to do many of our favorite things now. Our favorite thing to do as a couple since having children is to spend as much alone time together as we can. When we are able to spend time alone we usually go out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants and maybe catch a movie after.
How has wedding planning been so far? There has been a few bumps with wedding planning, but with such a great support team from Glam Events By Gee things are starting to fall in place.
