Jessica and Stephen’s love story began on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park, where Jessica was pursuing an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Steven a graduate degree in Public Policy. Pursuing tutoring assistance at the writing center, Jessica and Stephen were both more than pleasantly surprised to find out that Stephen would be Jessica’s tutor. It wouldn’t take long being in each others presence that they both came to realize there was something far more special than just studying between them…

Stephen proposed to Jessica at Sherwood Gardens in Baltimore, Maryland.
How did you know they were “the one”? Stephen and Jessica have been in a relationship for 6 years before they got engaged and were engaged for 2-3 years before they got married. That’s enough time to know that someone is “the one.”
What was wedding shopping like for you? My dress is from Betsy Robinson Bridal Designer – Allure Bridal Gown. Stephen wore a tuxedo suit from Men’s Wearhouse. Wedding shopping was a non-stressful event as I did it all by myself and was confident in my choice.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? Jessica is Nigerian American and incorporated a traditional dance entrance at the 2nd half of the wedding. Jessica’s traditional Nigerian dress was custom made by Nee Imo.
What is your best memory from your wedding? The wedding ceremony was the best part for the couple as they announced their personal vows to each other.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Try to enjoy the process of preparing for the wedding and have as much fun as you can during the wedding. It all goes by way to FAST!
