Brandon first noticed Keiana via social media and although he didn’t know her, he couldn’t help himself, it was something about her that drew him in, so he reached out to his future wife. However, it wasn’t until they ran into each other at the grocery store months later that the undeniable energy between them refused to be ignored. Brandon recognized that he had encountered his counterpart and committed in that moment to never leave her side. As the age old saying goes, “When you know…you know…”

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal. We met initially on social media when he attempted to “get to know me”! We ran into each other months later in the grocery store on the cookie aisle where he gave me the last pack of golden Oreos on the shelf. Ten months later he proposed at my apartment, just the two of us while watching a movie he had chosen for the night, which happened to be the movie we saw on our first date together. It was super sweet and intimate!
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Our wedding was fabulous. The inspiration was “Grown and Sexy” and formal. We love the gold sequin look with the black, and wanted pops of sexy, yet romantic colors throughout the floral designs. We are Christian and God has always been at the center of our relationship so we used a Unity Cross for our unity ceremony.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? We wanted out ceremony decor to be simple and romantic with dime lighting, lots of candles and white draping. For our reception we wanted things to be a little more dramatic (sexy). We used black sequin table linen with a mixture of tall dramatic and lower elegant centerpieces. Our sweetheart table with white draping, gold sequin linen, candles and throne chairs was the focal point in the room.
What were the florals like in your wedding? We used the florals to add pops of color to break up the black, gold and ivory. The centerpieces consisted of red, fuchsia and blush roses, all colors that reminded us of love. The bridesmaids had simple white bouquets to go along with their dramatic full sequin gold dresses. My bouquet was better than I had imagined it would be. It was huge, round, full and colorful with the reds, pinks, and ivory and my favorite flower – the Calla Lily. The florals were an important part of our design for sure.
Did you personalize the day in any way? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding? We personalized our wedding by having live music for our guests during the cocktail our as well a live solo during the ceremony. One of our favorite parts of the wedding was our entrance into the reception where we were able to dance and be our usually silly selves.
Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? The wedding dress was by Lazaro. An ivory trumpet dress with a lace, sheer bodice, sweetheart neckline and a layered, ruffled, organza skirt with chapel train. The groom was very stylish in his tailored slim fit tuxedo with black pants, ivory jacket with black lapels and oversized black satin bowtie.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day? The most anticipated and special moment of the entire wedding day was the first look were the groom saw the bride for the first time.
