Haillie and Messiah’s love story began at the gathering of a mutual friend. Messiah couldn’t help but notice Haillie, immediately struck by her presence. Gathering himself he nervously approached and began a conversation that opened the pathway to love, on which they still walk hand-in-hand today. Their first date was spent attending an outdoor concert, complete with good food, great conversation, singing and dancing. Haillie and Messiah look forward to saying “I do” in front of God and family & friends on June 17th in historic Philadelphia with Officiant and MunaLuchi Coterie member, Married by Rev Roxy.

Tell us how you met. Messiah met Haillie at a mutual friend’s gathering. With nervousness & anxiety running through Messiah he knew he could not miss the opportunity to initiate a conversation. Lucky he did because later on he would find out he met the woman of his dreams.
Describe your engagement session. We wanted to go with a vintage/romantic look and our photographer, Dejohn, made it all come to life.
What did you do on your first date? We went to an outdoor old school R&B music concert at the Dell. We spent the evening cooking on the grill, singing, drinking, and dancing with his family! It was unusual of a first date but ended up being perfect for us.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love food so we spend a lot of time at different restaurants preferably BYOB. We tend to look for little small gems like Mom and pop places to eat.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning for us has been a roller coaster. We have had some highs and some lows but we have faced them together. This entire process has brought us even closer, while also teaching us a lot about ourselves.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We are both looking forward to saying I do in front of God, our family, and friends. Once we get that finished we both just want to enjoy and celebrate our love (Translation: Turnup!).
