Kiara and Jamien’s Intimate and Elegant Wedding in North Carolina

The origins of Kiara and Jamien’s love story takes root in the auditorium of their high school, where Jamien was a Senior basketball player and Kiara was a Freshman cheerleader. That evening was the moment in which they both left an indelible impression on the other, but their love truly wouldn’t take shape until after almost ten years of friendship. Their love officially became forever on April 20th in Raleigh, North Carolina where they were pronounced husband and wife in front of family and friends.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: We first noticed each other before a basketball game in High School (2007). Jamien was a senior Basketball player, and I was a freshman Cheerleader. We became friends in 2009 and were friends for 8 years before dating!
The proposal was a complete surprise. It was after dinner at Kanki, in the center of Crabtree Valley Mall.

Describe your wedding dress. The dress was a very modern champaign and ivory, mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline.

What was wedding shopping like for you? Shopping was fun, yet difficult because there was so many different dresses!

Bridesmaids/Groomsmen gifts: Robes, and special made earrings for the Bridesmaids, and engraved mugs for the groomsmen.
Favorite item on the menu: Kiara: “Mashed potatoes!” Jamien: “Grilled Chicken!”
First dance song: “This is why I love You” by MAJOR.

What is your best memory from your wedding? Kiara: “My best memory from my wedding would have to be the sand ceremony because we got to include Khloe in that.”
Jamien: “Dancing with my beautiful bride, family, and friends. I’m not much of a dancer, so that was kind of a big deal!”

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Kiara: “ELOPE! Or have a small intimate wedding to keep the budget, and the stress down.”
Jamien: “Planning can be long and stressful at times but try your best to enjoy every moment of it.”
