A few weeks prior to meeting Krystal, Damon had a vision in the form of a dream, in it he met the woman of his dreams. Until seeing Krystal it was simply a dream, but that day at the gym it was as if the woman of his dreams became part of the real world. He recognized her the moment he saw her and knew he had to get to know her. At first Krystal was reluctant to the advances of a complete stranger in the gym, but eventually she let her guard down and they later connected over social media. A few exchanged messages led to a phone conversation that opened them up to a first date. That evening over dinner they “hit it off so well” they began spending a lot more time together, and it wasn’t long before they both realized that they had found the person of their dreams…

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal. We met at the gym – Planet Fitness in Dallas, Texas. Krystal was on the treadmill and she was looking so good that I just had to go over and speak to her. She really was trying to shut me down and didn’t want to talk to me too much. I asked her for her phone number and she told me no! So I asked if she had facebook. I got the same answer from her which was a no! Then I asked if she had an Instagram? Finally, I got a yes! So I reached out to her in her messages and I saw that she read it. She didn’t respond! So a few days later I tried it again. I saw she read my message but she didn’t respond. So I went to bed and I heard my phone go off and it woke me up out of my sleep. I woke up because I saw it was Krystal! So we chatted for a while and I gave her my number and asked if she could call me. She said not this late! The only thing that is open this late is I-hop and she’s not flipping no pancakes and her office hours are between 9-5. We began to talk about our family and that’s what got her to open up and I asked if I could see her outside of the gym one day. She agreed and we went out to dinner! After we met, we hit it off so well, we started spending a lot of time together. We saw that we shared a lot of similarities, and we really valued marriage, so it seemed like we would end up being together. Shortly after this, I proposed on Thanksgiving. I felt right about it, and I didn’t feel like I needed to wait an extended amount of time, so I proposed. She was so surprised! I asked her dad and mom for her hand in marriage and showed them the ring. Later on that day I proposed in front of my family! She was so shocked and couldn’t stop screaming!
How did you know they were “the one?” A few weeks before we met I had a dream about a woman. I knew this was my wife. I just hadn’t met her yet. So one morning I got up to go and train at Planet Fitness in Dallas, TX and there she was. Krystal looked so beautiful on the treadmill. I just knew I had to say something to her. Of course, she gave me a hard time and didn’t give me her number but I was determined to talk to this woman and make her mine. Finally, after tracking her down we begin to talk and we hit it off so well, we started spending a lot of time together. Krystal is truly the woman of my dreams. She is who I dreamt about a few weeks before meeting her.
Describe your engagement session. The theme was modern vintage. It was inspired by the Harlem Renaissance and 1930’s era with a new school twist. Our engagement session really allowed us to explore each other more as a couple. We really got a chance to do something new together. The shoot was so versatile. From a gym look, to enchanted waterfalls. The shoot was such a production that we had an audience. The lights, music, the creativity of our photographer, to our makeup artist, all the way to our magnetic chemistry with each other. The shoot was an experience and it wasn’t just pictures.
How has wedding planning been so far? The wedding planning has been intense so far to say the least. But it is coming along.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We are looking forward to completing our friendship, our relationship, in marriage. Also, we look forward to sharing the day with family and friends. The honeymoon where we can enjoy each other and get away from the stress of planning the wedding. We both look forward to being married to our best friend and sharing our life together.
