Bold, rich, free-flowing and so much more. This mediterranean styled shoot ties together a lush color palette with coral sea references, gorgeous gown designs, and tablescape that is just right – all perfectly complimented by the natural appeal of the Plaza de Magdalena setting. If you’re looking for ideas on how to bring that mediterranean touch for your next event, look no further than this.

Our team wanted to pull together a shoot that not only highlighted individual personalities, but brought a bold color palette to the overall design. When designing I always like to take a key element and weave that detail into all the design elements.
Plaza de Magdalena has a beautiful Mediterranean feel to the venue which made it the perfect setting for our shoot. One of the key elements that stood out was the beautiful quatrefoil motif stone within the flooring of the venue. So rich in color and texture, I knew it had to be the focal point for the design. Some of the key elements that we wove this design in: Table Number: The stationery designer cut the table number using the motif design. Cake: The cake designer was able to take the motif and create the design around one tier and then used the inverse design for the other tier. Simply beautiful.
Next for our design, I wanted to use natural elements to complement the natural stone. The table used had marble stones within the detail of it. Small details but gives the overall feel a rich texture.
Additionally I wanted to pair the bold colors with a twisted texture. I kept seeing blue in my mind so we found these really beautiful chairs to lend with the overall design and what was the added icing on the cake, the cake designer created cupcakes with the same patter and the blue chairs.
In working with the floral designer, we new another element we wanted to highlight was the staircase and the amazing brick wall within the venue. When I think of the Mediterranean I think of lush and free and the staircase that the floral designer decorated made you feel as though you were walking through a sea of florals.
It was so much fun designing this shoot and working with the different ladies who had different heights, shades, beauty and personalities. It was pure fun on the set.
