Love in Atlanta – Jessica and Jerry’s Intimate City Engagement

Jessica and Jerry’s love story began when their paths crossed during an Atlanta Hawks game. Jerry, immediately struck by Jessica’s beauty upgraded the seats of her and her friend, as he was part of the event staff. With an obvious vibe between them, a brief conversation ensued where Jerry asked for Jessica’s number. Jessica, being cautious, assumed his flirtations wouldn’t go beyond the evening, but was surprised when he texted her during the game to invite her and her friend onto the court to enjoy a post game performance. In Jerry’s words, “I tell Jessica all the time, that night, that game, was our first date because I knew when I laid eyes on her, she would be mine.”

How did you meet? Jerry and I met on March 16, 2017. I was walking into the Atlanta Hawks game when we noticed each other in passing. A conversation sparked by me mentioning his name because it was on his chain and by Jerry clowning us about where our seats in the game were located. He immediately turned on the charm by giving my friend and I club level seats and asking for my number. I sensed his smooth player demeanor. I remember saying to myself “hmmm he’s just a flirt, this probably won’t go pass this game.” Well during the game he began to text and asked if we wanted to come on the court for the Post Game show starring Atlanta Rap Group, The Migos. We had a great time, great conversation and he seemed like a complete gentleman. The vibe was just right!

Tell us your proposal story. Jerry proposed to me April 14, 2018, celebrating what I thought was another dinner for my mom’s new promotion. While I expected he was up to something, I quickly put those thoughts to rest once we arrived at dinner and it was just my parents. I’m thinking to myself, he knows I would want my friends here so…let’s enjoy this food! The dinner was going great, good food and conversation but Jerry began to look nervous. After ordering dessert, I looked up to see my best friends walk in with huge smiles on their faces. Much to my confusion, I’m questioning what they were doing here at this very moment. I get up to greet them only to turn around and see Jerry down on one knee. I don’t really remember what Jerry said, I just remember crying, screaming, and then seeing the ring and crying some more. Describe your engagement session. We had two separate engagement sessions. The first one was located at Centennial Park and The Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Our theme for the first shoot was casual, fun, and all about us, in the heart of Downtown Atlanta where we met and spend a lot of time together going to different concerts, sporting events, etc. The second shoot was at the Peachtree Club which is where we will be saying “I do,” in front of all of our family, friends, and the Atlanta skyline.

What did you do on your first date? I tell Jessica all the time, that night, that game, was our first date because I knew when I laid eyes on her, she would be mine.

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Our favorite thing to do as a couple is travel. We love to travel whether it’s a road trip or flying. It’s always good to get away from work and enjoy time together or with Carter.

How has wedding planning been so far? So far wedding planning for us has been fun and exciting. Our wedding planner Crystal from Niq Williams Events makes the experience seamless.

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. I’m looking forward to marrying my best friend and seeing my parent’s expression witnessing their only daughter walk down the aisle. I am also looking forward to having all of our family and friends together for the turn up!
