Shannon and Aaron’s love story began when they initially connected on a popular dating app.
The more they learned about each other the more apparent their relationship potential became. When it was time for the first date a local bacchanal provided the perfect setting. Together they enjoyed the sound of jazz over glasses of wine, lost in conversation long into the festivities.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: We met on Match.com! I was not expecting a proposal on November 10, 2018. My soror and friend asked me to go with her to a wedding in City Park. I really did not want to go because it was the same day as my school’s gala. Aaron kept pushing me to go and be there for my friend. I complied. She is also getting married and told me she wanted to check out a venue in City Park for her reception. I felt like she kept leading me astray and I was getting frustrated. She walked me over a bridge and I saw a guy dressed up in all black with candles lit around a bench. I wasn’t paying much attention to him because Aaron rushed out of the house earlier saying he was called into work. I was so annoyed because I did not want to be late for the wedding which would make me late for the gala. The guy in black started waving at me. I looked again and realized it was Aaron! That’s when I realized this was my proposal! Aaron enlisted some of our close friends to recreate the scene where Martin proposes to Gina in the park. Aaron chose the date of November 10th because it was the same day his mother was laid to rest in 1989.
What did you do on your first date? Aaron planned to pick me up from my house and we went to Bacchanal for wine and live jazz.
