How did you meet? Megan and Rolando first met in college at Virginia State University (VSU), August 2011. Rolando sat right behind Megan in Algebra class and noticed there was something special about this girl from Louisiana. From the moment Rolando laid eyes on Megan, he instantly knew she would be his wife! They were both business majors (Marketing & Business Management) and had the same classes. They became friends throughout college. Rolando would always act shy and quiet around Megan. Rolando would always tell his basketball teammates and friends how he had a crush on Megan but did not have the courage to approach her. Rolando left Virginia State University in the Fall of 2013 to attend another school however they remained friends and kept in contact. After Megan graduated from VSU in May of 2015, Rolando came out of his shell and pursued Megan. Megan later moved to Texas and Rolando then lived in North Carolina. With numerous phone calls and Facetime, getting to know each other, they decided to make it official and their long distance relationship grew over time. Rolando booked a flight to visit Megan in Texas and less than six months later, Rolando packed up his life in North Carolina and moved to Texas to be with Megan. They now live in Houston, TX and purchased their first home together and to put the icing on the cake, they will soon be Mr & Mrs. Wallace. Megan never thought her husband would be the guy that sat behind her in Algebra class…
Tell us your proposal story: Megan had never met Rolando’s mom, therefore Rolando flew his mother to Houston and presented it as they would just be meeting for the first time. Megan’s family also showed up for a “last minute dinner” at Megans’ favorite restaurant Pappadeaux’s. They often eat at Pappadeaux’s roughly twice a week. Megan thought this would just be a regular dinner at their favorite restaurant. Everyone ordered dinner and began to connect with one another for the first time as a family. They told stories about the past 3 years of their relationship and shared memorable moments in the intimate setting. Rolando then decided to take the time to say something special about each individual person at the table and how they influenced his life. When it came time to speak about Megan, Rolando then asked Megan to stand up in front of the entire restaurant. After expressing himself in front of everyone – it happened. Rolando got on one knee and asked Megan if she would like to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course, Megan said yes.
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was amazing! We wanted to capture the essence of our love but also incorporate how we are as one; a force. Our theme was royalty. He’s my king and I’m his queen. We did a casual and formal look. We definitely had more fun doing the formal shoot because we were so into character and liked dressing up!
What did you do on your first date? Megan will always remember her first date with Rolando. Megan had no idea where they were going or what they were doing because Manny only told her to dress up.
