Victoria and Rukevwe’s love story first began when they initially crossed virtual paths on social media.
After getting to know each other online, their first meeting was at a resort casino in New England. “Neither of us had high expectations for our initial meeting, but we ended up hitting it off right away,” Victoria recalls. It wasn’t long before love was in the air for Victoria and Rukevwe, and soon Rukevwe began thinking about the best way to propose. The perfect opportunity presented itself on a chartered private yacht in Miami where, as the sun set behind the Miami Beach horizon, Rukevwe got down on one knee and asked Victoria for her hand in marriage.

How did you meet? Due to the hectic nature of our job schedules, online dating was very convenient. Our initial meeting was at a resort casino in New England. Neither of us had high expectations for our initial meeting, but we ended up hitting it off right away.
Tell us all about the proposal! Ruke planned a weekend getaway to Miami for both his siblings and us. He told me we would be attending a boat party that Saturday evening. However, when we showed up to the pier, we actually boarded a private yacht that he chartered for just us. We sailed along the coast of Miami for a couple of hours that evening, with wine, snacks, and music onboard. Just as the sun was setting, we stopped along a canal to watch the beautiful sunset and get a few pictures before our tour ended, or so I thought. While we were taking pictures at the front of the yacht, Ruke joined me to take a few pictures as well. While facing the beautiful sunset over Miami Beach, he got on his knee and proposed. Everyone on board knew what was about to happen except me. His siblings acted as photographer and videographer. It was beautiful, emotional, and unforgettable.
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was fun. Although it began raining towards the end, we had a great time and made the best of it. Our theme was classy and fun.
What did you do on your first date? For our first date, we decided to go to lunch. We had such a good time at lunch that we decided to continue the date at a nearby aquarium. A quick lunch date turned into four hours of fun and laughter.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Traveling!
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has been smooth so far. Our wedding planner has been great.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. Friends, family, food, and dancing!
