When Debrahia and Tim met on Christmas Eve in 2015, they didn’t know they’d just received the gift that keeps on giving- true love.
They dated for several months before becoming an official couple in May 2016, and after a year of committed dating, Tim proposed.
They knew they wanted their wedding to reflect their unique sense of style and flair for everything glam. Debrahia shares, “I wanted my wedding to be glamorous and chic but with a clean look. I wanted bright flowers with a hint of pink. I wanted glitz and glam. I wanted it to be breathtaking and beautiful.”
Their ballroom wedding was just that. They transformed their already stunning venue using draping, lush florals, and a unique diamond-shaped floor plan.

- Couple: Debrahia & Tim Walker
- Wedding Date: Aug 31, 2019
- Wedding Location: Hutton Hotel in Nashville, TN
How did you meet?
We were introduced by a mutual friend. Tim was visiting his cousin for the Christmas holiday 2015 and his cousin’s wife invited me over to meet him. Since it was Christmas Eve, it wasn’t a long encounter; we basically just exchanged numbers. Tim invited me on a series of dates the days after Christmas. He was scheduled to return back to Detroit, but his flights were canceled due to the weather. We talked for the next several months. He flew me to Detroit in February. We went to Miami in March. Tim moved to Nashville in April. We became official in May 2016.
Tell us about the proposal.
He proposed November 2017 on a random Tuesday. He just got on his knee and told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him.
Tell us about your wedding!
I wanted my wedding to be glamorous and chic but with a clean look. I wanted bright flowers with a hint of pink. I wanted glitz and glam. I wanted it to be breathtaking and beautiful.
How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?
Elliott Events created so many wow factors for the wedding including a creative floor plan that included a diamond dance floor wrapped in our wedding logo. The tall florals and candelabras took my breath away. There were too many gorgeous details to name them all. The chandelier was definitely a conversation piece. I also really liked the flowers, especially around the dance floor tables.
What were the florals like in your wedding?
Our florals were very lush with the colors of white, blush, and hints of green. Overall I wanted a clean, sexy vibe.
How did you both choose your wedding day look?
I would describe our wedding attire as trendy and chic. My dress was a mermaid style dress with detailed beading at the top with ruffles at the bottom. It had a substantial size train. It was cream with a hint of pink. My necklace, a rose gold, diamond pendant with a matching bracelet. My shoes were Ivory satin Badgley Mischka Hollow. Tim had a very contemporary/trendy tux. Tim had two burgundy jackets with black fitted European cut tux pants. The dinner jacket was a little brighter with a flower design. Tim wore a diamond watch and a bracelet.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
The best memory would be seeing the room for the first time and walking down the aisle to marry Tim.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
I would tell the couple to take your time, do not feel like the process has to be rushed. I would also say to enjoy the day. I feel like once the ceremony started the rest of the day flew by. Make sure you just enjoy all those moments. Try not to stress out about last-minute RSVP or people just showing up because it’s going to happen.
