Established in London UK in 1991 and now based in Brooklyn NYC, wedding gown designer Yemi Kosibah specializes in creating contemporary and elegant bridal gowns that curve, shape, and flatter diverse body types. His newest collection of ready to wear gowns “Asheyori” is full of the beautiful draping, expertly placed embellishments, and classic lines that we’ve come to love from the designer.
Kosibah shares:
The Collection of 8 gowns and 1 pant suit are the label’s response to the need for more accessible gowns while still maintaining the Kosibah aesthetic. I leaned into designing pieces that would flatter almost every body type and taste. There is hopefully at least one gown in the collection that would speak to a potential bride out there.
The name Asheyori is from the Yoruba language and means success through adversity which is basically the birthing story of the Collection during the Covid pandemic. The dresses all have variations of Yoruba ‘Cherish’ names which have ‘ké’ which mean love/care for/adore within them.

The Asheyori collection retains the Kosibah aesthetic, but at a more affordable price point and wider accessibility via selected bridal salons and online sales. See the full collection below; let us know which pieces are your favorite, and visit kosibah.com for more details.
