Although Antree and Corsley went to the same high school and graduated together, they didn’t really know each other.
They would not connect until 18 years later when they followed each other on social media. Their love blossomed quickly, and Antree proposed during their first real vacation together in Jamaica in 2019.

How did we meet
We went to high school and had 1 brief encounter and graduated together but didn’t really know each other. Fast forward to 18 years later following each other on social media. I reached out to him, we had a brief DM moment and ironically he was in town. We ended up at the same Jazz festival in Baltimore and after that encounter we never let go from that day on!
The proposal
It happened a few weeks after our first real vacation together in Jamaica in 2019. It was my sister’s birthday celebration at my house; my whole family was there. Apparently, he told my mom and everyone he was planning on proposing. However, long after the celebration was winding down it still did not happen. Reluctantly after staying at our home until almost midnight, my sister and family left. Not knowing that about 1 am he took me up into our little meditation room, asked me to look out into our yard and when I turned around he was down on one knee with my beautiful ring. He told me he loved me and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Although my family was disappointed they weren’t able to witness it, he explained that he didn’t want to take away from my sister’s birthday and he wanted this moment to be between him and I. I had to respect that !
Wedding style
Our initial plan was Royal Caribbean and we kinda had that but I would say it was more of classic beautiful simple yet elegant occasion. I wore a dress by CRISTIANO LUCCI who I later found was designed by a black designer by the name of Paulette Cleghorn. My husband wore a traditional fitted rental traditional tux with a custom made corsage by another black artist/ designer. I had a great shopping experience at a local black-owned bridal boutique Elite Secrets Bridal Boutique where I chose the first dress I tried on. Our experience was pretty simple as we went black-owned with everything from our stationery to our, decorum, flowers, DJ, makeup, photography, videography, hair, nails, barber, tailors.
My second dress was also beautiful but was a simple online purchase. Our shoes:The groom wore Stacy Adams and my two pairs were from the bridal collection from Bagdley Mischka. My veil, head piece and bouquet were all from the same bridal boutique.
Incorporation of Culture
We are believers in Christ so as guest were seated we created a playlist of worship and tried to have sage, lavender and other essential oils burn as our guest were seated.
The best memory
For my husband it was when he saw me coming down the aisle and our memory together was when we danced into the reception announced as Mr. and Mrs. Corsley Edwards II
Advice for engaged couples
Pray every single day together and set positive intentions positive expectations and have patience with each other. We pray together every single morning to command our day and we also prayed for the atmosphere we wanted for our wedding day down to the weather, energy and beyond. We had the most beautiful and amazing day (and perfect weather)!
