Justin and Colette’s plan was to be in Vegas for their anniversary. Unfortunately COVID-19, derailed everything.
Instead, their friend graciously opened her beautiful backyard for an intimate anniversary dinner. Colette, being a planner, took the opportunity to style a bohemian party full of bright oranges, yellows and blues inspired by fall in Morocco.

When did you get married and where?
September 26 2005, Brooklyn, at our church.
What was your wedding like?
Intimate ceremony with close family and friends.
As you celebrate your anniversary, what do you remember most about your wedding day?
The overwhelming excitement to start our new life.
Him: Seeing my wife come down the aisle for the first time.
Was there anything you would have done differently for your wedding?
No
What are your favorite things to do as a couple?
Traveling and exploring the world different cultures making memories with our family our three children, and enjoying really good food.
Who cooks?
We both do now, I think he is trying to come for me in the kitchen. He has become an exceptional cook.
Do you have any children or pets?
If so, tell us how many and what type of pets. Three children two daughters one son, Madison 12 years old, Mackenzie 9 years old, William 7 years old, no pets.
When it comes to Career, what do both of you do and how do you make time for each other?
We both have 9 to 5 he’s a Verizon technician and I’m an admin for a IT company but we both also have small businesses he builds bases and do custom repairs and I’m an event planner. We’re intentional about our time if even just to talk, our watch our favorite show. It’s a constant work in progress.
What would you say are the most important elements for a successful marriage?
Constant honest communication and respect. Be considerate of your spouse; always thinking of ways to make their lives better and easier.
How do you keep the spark in your marriage?
Intimacy, It’s more than just touch, It starts with conversation. Humor, we have lots of fun together.
Tell us about the shoot. What inspired it?
Fall in Morocco. I wanted to use fall colors like mustard and pumpkin. But I wanted a pop of color, and Moroccan blue was the perfect fit. Plus, it’s a place we’ve always wanted to visit.
What do you love most about one another?
His commitment to his family. Her generous, compassionate and caring nature.
What advice can you give for newlyweds?
Really get to know the person you’re planning on spending the rest of your life with, try your best to have as much conversation about as many topics as possible delve deep into conversation talk about the hard things: finances children career goals long-term and short-term goals, handling confrontation, etc
When it’s all said and done it’s not about you.
