Is it possible to fall in love in 24 hours? Kiland and Lakyesha say, Yes!

After spotting Lakyesha in a restaurant, Kiland was immediately taken with her. Lakyesha shares, “I was approached by this handsome gentleman(Kiland) who asked me for my number and later moved us to VIP seating (not knowing he was an entertainer for the evening); in the process of walking to our seats we held hands for the first time and after the concert spoke on the phone for hours and fell in love within 24 hours, we have been inseparable ever since.”

After proposing to Lakyesha’s at her job, the stylish couple is excitedly planning their wedding. But first, they commemorated their engagement with a chic engagement session in downtown Houston.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal.

For Me, it started out as a night with my girls with no plans of meeting anyone but just to hang out and enjoy some live music by an old-school artist that we all were fond of.

I was approached by this handsome gentleman who asked me for my number and later moved us to VIP seating (not knowing he was an entertainer for the evening); in the process of walking to our seats we held hands for the first time and after the concert spoke on the phone for hours and fell in love within 24 hours, we have been inseparable ever since.

Kiland was under contract with the House of Blues to promote his New Restaurant and collaborate with the Promoters as an opening act for artist Abina Howard on that evening. Within a few short days and weeks, it became apparent that Our love was something that would be substantial and last forever. Thus our hashtag was soon created #kandkforever.

We continued to date until one day I went to work, as usual, I had meetings that were moved to a different floor. The meeting started out unusual and I felt something different but went with it; only to walk into a room filled with my staff, supervisor, co-workers, best friend, son (who was supposed to be at school), family, and Kiland on one knee.

Needless to say, I said “Yes” and now we are a combined blended family of 5 beautiful children, 3 girls and 2 boys ages range from 2-24 years old.

Did you have a theme?

We don’t have a specific “theme” but our colors are pink (my favorite color), green (his favorite color), and white. Luckily those colors blend great together!

What did you do on your first date?

Our first date was the day after we meet. Kiland is a Chef and he invited me over for dinner and later that day we attended an Outdoor Jazz festival where he actually introduced me as “his girlfriend” for the first time.

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?

Very simple….We love sitting together late at night with His Cognac, Cigar, my Martini, or Moscato laughing at ourselves or our kids with our new Puppy or watching something silly on TV followed by the Best Cuddle Session on Earth!! Lol

How has wedding planning been so far?

Most times it’s been a little challenging getting all our thoughts and ideas together within a budget, but we have planned a day that really reflects our style and love for each other.
