One of the benefits of having smaller, more intimate weddings is that you have more time to capture stunning wedding portraits.
Due to COVID-19, Mahogany and Milton Coore decided to have a private ceremony that was streamed via Zoom. However, they did not skimp on style, and they made sure to capture their gorgeous attire and love with a romantic wedding portrait session. Immediately after their ceremony, they headed to the Arthur Sackler Gallery Courtyard in Washington, DC to take their stunning photos. This intimate location perfectly complemented their wedding colors of royal blue and white. Although it felt like the coldest day of the year, they brought the heat with their love, chemistry, and passion.

How did you meet?
We were introduced at a social event we both attended.
Tell us about the proposal
The proposal was spontaneous and took place at my house while the two of us were alone watching a movie. Although marriage had been discussed and rings suggested, the element of surprise was not lost.
Wedding Style
I chose a white lace dress accompanied with a royal blue fur shawl with white satin shoes from David’s Bridal. The groom’s suit jacket matched my shawl paired with royal blue dress shoes and black pants from Men’s Warehouse.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you?
While shopping for my dress it was love at first sight. I tried on a few dresses chosen by the sales associate but almost immediately I knew which dress I was going to purchase. It all happened within an hour’s time. I chose my accessories and shoes all on the same day. It couldn’t have been any easier.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
The moment when he held my hand at the ceremony. This gesture gave me comfort and helped soothed my nerves knowing we were doing this together.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Follow your heart, spend time getting to know each other’s values and life goals.
